Comparison of ice rink systems
Different rink surfaces on the ICEGRID system
The vaporizer temperatures shown represent a cooling load of 300 W/ ². If less power is needed, the temperature will rise proportionally in all systems.
ICEGRID under artificial turf filled with quartz sand
ICEGRID under polymer bonded quartz sand surface
ICEGRID with or without quartz sand directly under the ice
These are different superstructures and substructures with the ICEGRID system. Insulation at the bottom makes sense, causes, however, high investment costs. Discussing it with the builder, the planner and us will help choose the right surface as well as the best substructure.
Direct system with ammonia in iron pipes under concrete
EPDM absorber mats on concrete

EPDM rink piping with sports surfaces for summer use:
The vaporizer temperature is a decisive factor for the efficiency of the facility. Every degree the vaporizer temperature is lower will increase the necessary cooling load (investment costs) and the energy consumption (electricity costs)
by 4 %.
